Announcing our 2024 ROLL Models

Designed by Skateistan and Women Win, the ROLL Models programme enters its fifth year to support and create visibility for women and non-binary leadership in skateboarding.

We are excited to announce that the ROLL Models Advisory Board has finished the selection process and selected 16 ROLL Models for 2024, who will design and deliver skateboarding projects aimed at encouraging gender-diverse youth to get rolling across Europe. This year's ROLL Models are predominantly new applicants, alongside one returning ROLL Model who applied to grow their initiative launched in 2022.

We are delighted to have some ROLL Models from some new locations which we haven't had represented in the program historically — such as Portugal, Scotland, Isle of Man and Malta. We also have a broad age range, with the 2024 ROLL Models ranging from their early 20s to late 40s!

In August, we will be bringing together all 2024 ROLL Models for an in-person Leadership Camp taking place in Paris, France. Additionally, each ROLL Model will receive a grant to fund their project idea (€1500-3000 per project), as well as receiving ongoing support and guidance from Skateistan and Women Win.

A huge thank you to everyone who applied this year — it was incredibly inspiring to read so many innovative project ideas to support marginalized communities and diversify representation within skateboarding.

About the ROLL Models Programme

The ROLL Models programme is a collaboration by Skateistan's Goodpush Alliance and Women Win. Between 2020-2025, the ROLL Models programme aims to support 125 women leaders in Europe with leadership training and over €175,000 in seed grants.

The ROLL Models programme is designed to support and create visibility for diverse women leaders within skateboarding and to fund the projects they’ve designed — so that the next generation of girls and gender-diverse youth can build confidence, community, and life skills on and off their skateboards.
