ROLL Models Call for Applications 2024!

Calling women and non-binary people in Europe with a passion for skateboarding and a powerful idea to inspire the next generation!

For the fifth year in a row, Skateistan and Women Win are teaming up to support women and non-binary leadership in skateboarding.

The ROLL Models programme is designed to support and create visibility for women and non-binary leaders within skateboarding and to fund the projects they’ve designed — so that the next generation of girls and gender-diverse youth can build confidence, community, and life skills on and off their skateboards.

We’re currently seeking applications from women and non-binary people with project ideas that will use skateboarding to improve physical and mental well-being, inclusivity, and promote gender equity. To be eligible, the project needs to include girls and non-binary people (aged 5-18) as the main participant group.

The ROLL Models programme is a unique opportunity for people with a passion for skateboarding to connect with and support each other, gain in-depth training and support, and to work towards a more diverse and inclusive skateboarding community.

Selected ROLL Models will receive:

  • A seed-grant of up to €3000 to fund their project idea
  • A place at our ROLL Models Leadership Camp in Berlin this summer (including travel, accommodation & expenses)
  • Support and guidance from Skateistan and Women Win
  • Access to educational and training resources, as well as access to the network of past and present ROLL Models

To be eligible to apply, you must:

  • Identify as a woman or non-binary person, aged 18 or older
  • Be based in Europe or the UK
  • Have an idea for a project in Europe to empower girls through skateboarding (including WCMX)
